Best Brunch in Kansas City
Article Written by Courtney Dever
Looking for the best brunch in Kansas City? Brunch is arguably the best meal anyone could come up with– you get the delicious breakfast category with all the comfort foods, and the flexibility of lunch items if you prefer, and you get it at a time you can sleep in for (which also means that if you are getting to enjoy brunch, it’s likely the weekend). Make sure you pull yourself out of bed to enjoy the brunches Kansas City has to offer because there are enough restaurants creating a few specials to bring you in early.
Top Brunch Specials in Kansas City (Not Bottomless)
Our list is split up between KC Bottomless Brunch Specials, and KC Brunch Specials. If you’re not familiar with the brunch scene in Kansas City on a Saturday or Sunday morning (or early afternoon!), these results are sure to satisfy. Looking for brunches with some kind of “bottomless” special? We found the best of those too. Here are 9 restaurants you can visit for great brunch specials.
You don’t have to put in much effort to be on time for brunch specials when the restaurant hours are the entire range of brunch. With two locations, one in KC, MO and one in Shawnee, KS, you would think Eggtc would be less busy, but it’s their amazing breakfast food that brings the crowd in. You can get any item here: eggs, pancakes, waffles, french toast, crepes, omelets, frittatas, sandwiches, soup, and salad, and most plates are $8-10.
If you’re looking for a brunch restaurant with a very unique and local feel, Succotash is known for being just that. They particularly go above and beyond in their specialty juices and their espresso beverages. Their new menu has a build-your-own section for scrambles, burritos, omelets, burgers, and salads with a list of almost 50 toppings. Prices are in the $9-14 range, covering breakfast to lunch. Just remember to arrive early to avoid a packed restaurant and limited parking options.
Westport Cafe knows how to please with a brunch that lasts until 4 pm. They are a French fusion restaurant, and the brunch menu has items such as quiche, ricotta pancakes, smoked salmon toast with avocado, and shrimp and polenta. The best part of their special might be the complimentary beverage included with a brunch plate: Bellini, Mimosa, Bloody Mary, coffee, or a fountain drink. Plates on the brunch menu are $11-16 and well worth the price for the delicious food (and drink).
The Farmhouse is a farm-to-table restaurant using fresh and local ingredients for quality dishes. Their menu is a little shorter than most, but it has unique items like Vegan Hash, Carrot Cake French Toast, and Corned Beef Hash. Try either one of their brunch specials– the Frittata of the Day or the Omelet of the Day, $13 and $12 respectively, served with potato hash.
#5 – The Corner Restaurant
4059 Broadway Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64111
Brunch: Daily 6 am-3 pm
The Corner is another restaurant that emphasizes the fact that they value using local ingredients. They have an aside on their menu just for listing the local suppliers your business is supporting. You can order from the breakfast menu with all the classics or from their shorter list of brunch items (around $9-14) including sandwiches and a section accurately named “Uniquely Corner” with items such as Chilaquiles and Two-Way Toast. You’ll have to visit for yourself to find out what these are about, but they won’t disappoint.
Brunch Hours: Saturday 9 am-3 pm and Sunday 9 am-2 pm, with a 2-hour maximum window for bottomless cocktails
The “bottomless” special at Avenues Bistro’s brunch is better than just Mimosas. Included in the $12 price for bottomless, you can order Mimosas, Bellinis, Bloody Marys, or a few other cocktails to mix and match. You’ll need to order a brunch entree for the bottomless cocktails, but on Sundays, you can get the entree plus the Brunch Bar– fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, salads, and desserts– for $16.95. On Saturdays, brunch entrees are around $9-11 per plate.
Summit’s bottomless Mimosas might be on the pricier side, at $15.95 with the purchase of an entree, but they are delicious. Ask if they are offering their special for “semi-bottomless” Mimosas if you’re looking to save a few dollars and don’t plan on getting your money’s worth with completely bottomless. Their entrees, which range from $9 to $16, always taste perfectly fresh. There are other locations, in Gladstone, MO and Lee’s Summit, MO, but the KC, MO location boasts the only Saturday and Sunday brunch in the Waldo area.
At Brick House, you can get $10 for bottomless Mimosas or $3.50 for other cocktails with the purchase of an entree. Either way is a great deal and a perfect pairing for the brunch menu, which offers plates such as the breakfast burrito, pork hash, breakfast sliders, or eggs “ben-addiction,” well priced between $9 to $11.
Look no further for a great brunch buffet. BC Bistro is the place to slow down and take your time to savor the food and enjoy some bottomless drinks. It’s $12 for bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosas. The buffet is $15 ($7 for children under age 12 and free for children under age 5) which is very reasonably priced for the buffet you’re getting– all the classic breakfast foods, pastries and desserts, plus lunch category items such as brisket, macaroni and cheese, and meaty pastas.
